The apartment
Palazzo Bartolommei is a privately owned historic palazzo a few steps from Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio. You enter through a grand neoclassical hall with its original columns and statues; a vaulted staircase leads up, and there is also a newly installed, mirror-lined lift.
On the fourth floor, the penthouse has been designed and decorated by Ilaria Miani, known for her farmhouses in southern Tuscany, in an original contemporary style. The double-height living and dining room has a fireplace and French doors to a fully furnished roof terrace and garden with views over the city. The large kitchen is fully equipped, and air conditioning and an internet connection are provided.
There are five bedrooms, each with a marble bathroom or shower room. The master suite has a walk-in shower and steam room, with stairs up to a loft bathtub and a door to the terrace; a second master suite has its own lofted sitting room with a day bed. Two Lambertesca bedrooms, one twin and one king, and an attic bedroom complete the accommodation, with a guest WC and laundry cupboard.
Maid, cook and shopping services can be arranged, with personal laundry or cooking at €15 per hour. After a day exploring Florence on foot, aperitivi on the roof terrace are a fine way to end it.
